Sarmast, the title of this CD, is the Persian word for
. Maryam Akhondy, the Iranian singer
living in Cologne/Germany, felt intoxicated
whenever becoming engrossed in the poems of the
great Persian poets such as Hafez, Attar or
Khayyam. This inspired she set some of these lyrics
to music in the style of Iranian Art Music.
