Upon hearing Brendan Adams one is immediately overwhelmed- and converted. Even on a superficial level his music is amazingly sensuous and appealing. Depth can be found in the details, in the warm lively sound of the band and the tailor-made rhythm structures, as well as the beautiful contrabass lines and guitar features.

Adams has the relaxed soul groove which also makes Jack Johnson appealing. In contrast Adams’s songs are not as sunny; more melancholic and broody. One becomes kind of sad.

It doesn’t seem very modest when a singer/ songwriter titles his second album with 17 songs „17 eternities“. One does however quickly forgive the South African currently living in Europe the big talk, because though in his songs there is more of the same present, it’s dressed with such warmth and modesty that it makes you want to reach out and give him a hug…
