The Galician band celebrates its twenty-five years in music with a disc compiling
the best of their career.
Amazing beauty and memories turned green again; tradition and innovation, echoes of other times and steps to the modernity; legend and history, roots and ways forgotten where we are coming back...
Twenty five years of career, more than thousand concerts in the whole world and 17 discs in order to insufflate the breath of the heir leaved by ancestors, history in its most bewitching way.
In a quarter of century of living Milladoiro still building, step by step, a unique creative universe, made in the middle of a land, the Galician one, where between fog, moors and a never really quiet sea, the magic still has its place.
Chamber folk for certain people; Celt alchemy, for others, and a pride for the Galicians will tell others.
They are all in the truth because Milladoiro does offered , and still does, solemnity and liturgy to the popular; they have levelled up with passion the flag of its age-honoured culture and, have truly given various reasons of proud to its people.
The twenty fifth anniversary is a sufficiently important thing to take a little while to watch backwards before undertaking the march towards which it is about to come. A good moment to evaluate the work released till there and contemplates it. And it is precisely what Milladoiro are intenting to do in Vintecinco, dive into their own memories, explore itself their large and rich biography.
To make ‘Vintecinco’ the members of the band have chosen their most representative themes, the most emotional load ones, accumulated during all this time.
In that aim they also required to invite few of their “twin souls” met along the way, disciples and masters.
Between others friends and fellows, they invited Susana Seivane, this bagpipe player which is making of its music a way of communication still in respect of the antique Galician tradition and at the same time announce what will become this tradition in the future.
In the same way, Eileen Ivers and his work, prove that the melancoly and happiness of the Celts´rythms had been present since the creation of the USA.
There’s also Rhonda Larson, sensible and virtuose flautist and Claudia Ferronato, the voice from the Italian band Calicanto, and his tone shaped by the mediterranean light, completing a charmfull quartet of feminin’characters.
’Vintecinco’ is an irresistible invitation to follow the Galician band for a trip throughout the memories accumulated during their career.
The abstract of a trajectory with the main objective to make live a tradition of Galician folk as a reality, still in evolution.
