Try to imagine the most popular characters of the cartoons created by Walt Disney and add the songs which made these cartoons unforgettable. Commit the situation to a strange and funny orchestra-conductor who looks like a cartoon and to a Dixie band able to perform excellent music and be involved in jokes and recreation. The result is a memorable and fantastic musical lesson in which Disney's works become precious musical material used in different ways both by the conductor and the musicians. The music of the cartoons involves musicians and public and creates fancy games. In fact, as Walt Disney suggests, dreams are easy and not expensive. "A walk to Dixneyland" is the title of this musical lesson born from the meeting between the author and actor Giacomo Anderle and the Tiger Dixie Band. A journey into Disney's cartoons in order to find out the secrets of the fascinating and constant conversation between pictures and music; a journey in which the children are able to understand the rules of a magic and funny game, that of music, which requires care and reliability. "A walk to Dixneyland" aims to discover relationships, meetings, battles, tales told in the musical language. The different instruments represent real characters; the musical pieces turn the space into new situations: from a dirty and abandoned stage to the big top of a circus, from a small and smoky bar to a forest full of animals. Rhythm, swing, rhythmic section, melodic section, musicality, improvisation: everything is explained from the point of view of the different instruments, telling the history of jazz which was born thanks to the strong opposition of the black slaves in USA. Even now, jazz is able to represent the deepest emotions of the human beings. This is the meaning of the journey: the discovery of a light, funny music which hides strong feelings; the discovery of a music in which each performer can relate and involve everyone else in a big game, amazing and complex as life is.

The TIGER DIXIE BAND is formed by eight musicians who love performing the early jazz of '900 going through Ragtime, Charleston, Blues and Dixieland. The traditional pieces are presented both with arrangements of the '900 and with new ones written by the members of the group. It is possible that some guests can join the original formation on the occasion of CDs recordings. The TIGER DIXIE BAND presents itself completely in acoustic and is perfect for situations in which amplification is not needed as street parades and itinerant concerts. Furthermore, the musicians during the concerts wear the clothes which remind those years with the famous straw hat called "paglietta". During the years the group has performed in many Jazz Festivals and has taken part to several recordings for national and international TVs and Radios.
