This week, la Fira Mediterrània of Manresa will be at Womex, the most important market of traditional music and in which last year 2,440 professionals from 57 countries participated. Womex is celebrating its third and last year in the city of Copenhagen in Denmark. It presents traditional music groups from all over the world, unlike the Manresa fair, which focuses on the Mediterranean. Next year, Womex will change its venue, which it usually does every three years. The Fira Mediterrània will be presenting its fourteenth edition at a specific stand, while also working on attracting international professionals and disseminating the event to the media throughout the world.

The Manresa Fair is the only agent from Spain to be invited by the Womex organisation to give a speech within the framework of the international, professional Conference, which presents a programme of 20 sessions with 40 speakers from 23 countries: Germany, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Denmark, Spain, USA, France, Netherlands, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Lebanon, Macedonia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, South Africa, Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine and Chile. The Fira will present the speech “Economic Impact Studies in the Management of Arts Markets: A Case Study of Fira Mediterrània de Manresa” on Friday, 28th October at 3 pm in the centrally located Forum Copenhagen building.

This activity of the Fira Mediterrània forms part of the internationalization project of Catalan culture, promoted by the Department of Culture of the Catalan Government, with the support of “Sounds from Spain” in travel logistics and hospitality and the Spanish Institute for Overseas Trade (ICEX) of the Central Government.
