Lithuanian songstress/composer/poet exploring the traditional kanklės (a 29 stringed zither-harp-like instrument) in non-traditional ways. While using the kanklės as a percussive instrument, hitting its strings, plucking harmonics and various other techniques, Jausmė builds beguiling ambient songs meshing intimations of contemporary influences with organically rooted resonance, creating a new genre of urban-etherealism. Inspired by the synthesis of old and new, urban (city soundscapes, people, architecture) and ethereal (nature, folk tales, spirituality), all around the globe, Jausmė blends it into cinematic compositions and songs, where she tries to bring balance between instrumental and vocal. Her authentic and fresh sound is best described as minimalist, contemporary post-folk with hints of soul, jazz, dub and imitations of live electronica.

After nearly a decade of music work in Bristol (UK), Jausmė has returned to Lithuania and works as a solo artist, theater composer and developer of interdisciplinary projects and performances. Currently Jausmė is preparing to release her first poetry book, adapted for people with visual impairment, and audio-poems on vinyl.
