Yuvisney Aguilar & the CUBintage" launch their first album "Guajiro-Warhero", based on creole music, which originated in the rural zones and countryside of Cuba.”
This new album is made of new songs and original compositions inspired by the music that flowered in the Cuban countryside and popular fiestas; music that was born of the love and happiness of the Cubans, and that is rooted in song and dance.
The word Guajiro comes from the "Arawak" (indigenous Antillean) and means “Señor” and “Powerful Man”. It also comes from the incorrect pronunciation of the expression War Hero, which was used in the Spanish–American War towards the end of the 19th century to refer to those who joined the Americans to overthrow the Spanish Empire.
