Tallari is a professional folk music ensemble from Kaustinen, Finland. Their repertoire consists of authentic Finnish folk music – both traditional and modern. The permanent members of the group for 19 years have been Antti Hosioja (accordions, double bass), Risto Hotakainen (fiddle, mandolin, bowed lyre, nyckelharpa), Ritva Talvitie (fiddle, vocals, 2-row accordion, bowed lyre) and Timo Valo (harmonium).

A new member in Tallari since September 2005 is vocalist Pauliina Kumpulainen. The multi-talented Pauliina is currently breaking musical boundaries very successfully: she has entered the group of top 25 competitors in the Finnish Pop Idol competition.

In 2006, Tallari will celebrate their 20th anniversary as a professional folk music ensemble. They will also perform as YLE's (Finnish Radio) representatives at EBU Folk Festival, arranged in Kaustinen, Finland.

Tallari emphasizes on knowledge of styles and traditions which form the basis of the group´s versatile activities. The group´s distinctive style has won many friends both in Finland and abroad: Tallari has performed in 18 countries with more than 1600 concerts. Tallari has recorded 8 albums of its own, and features on 9 other recordings and videos in Europe and the U.S.A.
