Kayt Band aims to perform traditional Armenian folk music with traditional music instruments. Most of the compositions performed by Kayt Band represent oral music tradition, which was recorded and transcribed from folks throughout the 19-20th centuries. Being the first stage performer of a large number of Armenian folk songs and melodies, Kayt Band seeks to execute the traditional music integrating it to the modern times and mentality. The band also creates opportunities for the other artists to get acquainted with the wide folk legacy and include it in their repertoire.
