Kynnes Kabale

New Danish World Music - Diversity is the Goal

Together with five fantastic musicians, Maria Kynne has started the orchestra Kynnes Kabale. The lyrics are humoristic and in Danish, the tunes with a twist of Balkan, Baghdad, Buenos Aires and Denmark and the instruments from all over the world.

Kynnes Kabale is music with an attitude. It is the story of the strength in standing together in all our multiplicity, told in Balkan Rhythms and harmonic minor scales. It contains multiplicity and unity; the fact that the whole is bigger than the sum of any individual parts.

Kynnes Kabale pays tribute to the diversity in society. The orchestra has four different nationalities and numerous musical traditions and cultural steps. The fact that diversity is strength is inevitable when you hear the wonderful musicians reaching a harmony and power in their interaction far beyond the talent of the individual. Everybody plays in a traditional way and at the same time no one can play as they are used to because the many different folkloric traditions have to work together. Everyone contributes with their own and adapts to each other, and in a perfect harmony, Kynnes Kabale creates a whole new type of music with many roots.

Music speaks directly to the heart regardless of linguistic, cultural and religious differences. When the heart is warm it naturally opens for profoundness, self awareness and reflection on life and society. In fact, the meaning is simple: We all need to be present and we can Kynnes Kabale is an example to continue in the existential discipline called peaceful harmony.

Musically the quality of Kynnes Kabale is unique. The Musicians are all world class. The lyrics are well tuned, funny, poetic and universal with a well known touch. It is beautiful, touching, funny and it rocks
