Mike Ibrahim hales from Martinique. As a child he marvelled at the Antilles reality which reflects his diverse roots from places as varied as Madagascar, France and America. His passion for the Caribbean nourishes his artistic world, especially his music, which borrows from a mix of cultures. Mikes musical taste and preferences are diverse (Antonio Carlos Jobim, Bob Marley, Sade, Kassav, Djavan, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder etc) and he sees his music as a synthesis of these influences but is careful to maintain a « Carribean » approach to his work. The songs on his debut album, « Ninaroz » can be heard as a creole pulse in the heart of the global village.
