Soul Afro Jazz Funky
The music of singer songwriter producer Bai Kamara Jr can be best described as having its base in soul with blues funk jazz afro and latin wrapped around it. Sting is cited as an influence, alongside the likes of Curtis Mayfield, Bob Marley and Marvin Gaye. However, Bai's personally constructed style of music has also arisen from the many various influences of his younger years in Africa.
Bai released his third album 'Disposable Society' in Belgium in 2010.
The album addresses social, ecological and humanitarian issues.
The idea of Disposable Society was conceived in 2006, a year after Urban Gipsy was released. In 2009 after selecting the songs that best documented the times he was going through he started recording with the objective of making a rootsy and organic album.
What made this album different from the others, is that, it is heavily influenced by his visit to Sierra Leone, after a 15 year absence.
Bai Kamara Jr is a poetic, melancholic artist and more than anything else he touches your mind and heart with beautiful songs.
