After the success of the KL International Jazz Festivals in 2012 and 2013, the 3rd edition of the KL International Jazz Festival will be held in April 2014. Spread over 11 days this time in multi venues in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, the festival will begin on 20th April 2014 and close with the International Jazz Day on 30th April 2014.
Having hosted the likes of NEA Jazz Master Ahmad Jamal, Grammy Award winners such as David Sanborn, Lee Ritenour, Ernie Watts and many others including Rudresh Mahanthappa, Hiromi Uehara, Everette Harp, Anthony Jackson, Steve Smith, Incognito, Meg Okura, Simone, Nicole Henry, Todd Gordon, Roger Biwandu, Christy Smith, Zamajobe, Jessy J, David Helbock etc., the Jazz Fest in 2014 is lining up similar international and talented local and regional names to headline the KL International Jazz Festival 2014 where contemporary jazz, smooth jazz, straight ahead jazz, classic jazz, jazz – rock, r&b, swing, funk, classic rock and blues converge.
More than 100 musicians from North America, Europe, Australia, Iran, Japan, South Africa, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia performed at the recent festival in September 14th 2013 andthis trend is expected to continue in 2014.
Art exhibition and Sale
As in the other major music festivals, KLIJF will also hold an Art Exhibition by some of the top artistes and emerging talents in the country.
Other Highlights include 4 indoor and outdoor stages, booths offering food, art, fashion, eco products, kids zone, Charity and CSR and a Hot Air Balloon show.
