Sulafa Elyas, a Sudanese singer and oud player, born in 1997, is currently a business administration student in her final year at Al-Ahfad University for Women. She had a great fondness for music at a very early age, as she used to sing in the celebrations of the primary stage, and then began playing the oud in high school.
Sulafa believes that musical art has a very big impact on shaping her personality from a psychological point of view؛ cultural and social, so she chose to sing to contribute to the positive impact on others, through the various topics that she can address through singing, whether they are emotional, social, or national topics, or to spread awareness of all issues of interest to society in all its categories without bias towards gender or a specific category.
She received a number of awards in the field of solo playing and singing in the Ahfad University celebrations for International Women's Day, in addition to her participation in acting. In the past years, Sulafa presented a number of Sudanese songs with the oud instrument, and then produced a video song (Lemon Bara) with the participation of the Tuareg band from Algeria, Imarhan.
Sulafa established her own musical band in the year 2021 to help her achieve her musical vision and ambition to present a distinctive musical style that combines originality and modernity. Currently, Sulafa is studying the oud instrument at the Arab Oud House, Khartoum branch, and is also studying modern music at the Global Music Academy, Khartoum. This is in order to refine her talent for study and to contribute to the formation of a different and distinctive model and color for a Sudanese artist armed with talent, science and musical culture.
