Chaqlalà is a original Berber (Amazigh) rock/folk band, formed in Barcelona in 2008 by Massinissa Ait Ahmed and Hakim Zamoun. Inspired by the popular music of Kabylia region in Nothern Algeria, Chaqlalá develops complex arrangements and contemporary sonorities that expand the boundaries of folk. His music is a fusion of Kabil traditional styles with funk and rock, creating a dense and energetic sound. His writings and his music brings up memories of Idir and Karim Ziad. A young group, with a second disc in preparation that will consolidate them as one of the most innovative proposals from North African music scene.
