Born ANYE KITCHA ASONGWE on Monday 19th October 1973 at Ntingkag Mankon Bamenda -Cameroon, he read philosophy in African School of philosophy in Victoria Island Nigeria but couldn’t finish his degree program because of financial problems so he embarked on self education by fostering his knowledge thanks to the availability of public libraries. These efforts inspired him to write his first publication in 2002 entitled “An Introduction to Philosophy of the Roots of Africa “book available in most press book shops in Cameroon.”. While in Nigeria, he joined a reggae Band called Roots Man Band in Lagos which opened the gateway to his dreams which is to use Reggae music to transform his society for the better. Ankias believes that Reggae Music originated from Africa, was transported to the west with the slave trade will be back to its roots in Africa.
Prior to all that he had obtained his Secondary education at Nacho Comprehensive college and PCHS Bamenda. At Nacho he was inspired and joined the nacho orchestra “Royal jacket” where he played the role of the Reggae lead singer, he is also into African crafts as he can be seen in his public regalia’s. He owns and plays traditional xylophone dance known as “Juju dance”. Ankias has played reggae in various cabarets around his country, he participated in festivals organized by Guinness and won several prizes, and he also participated in many exhibitions on African design and crafts. He’s the founder of R.I.M.S Reggae International Movement Society and a fervent supporter of the idea according to which Africans should use superstition to develop Africa not destroys it. Under his record label Mono Records he’s releases his first album “Oneness” and is preparing to release his second album under ME label. Ankias has won numerous awards amongst which Afro Diaspora award in 2005, Best coming up artist at the 2006 amongst youth magazine award, Most booked artist at the Baaventi awards, Cameroon best Anglophone musicians like in 2007, Representative for the North west province at the AIDS Fight concert in Yaoundé 2008 alongside with artist like Achalle, Macase, majoie Ayi, lady ponce etc…and representative at the Cameroon festival of arts and culture FENAC 2008 in Maroua
