Norway-based Finnish-Saami singer and songwriter Niko Valkeapaeae, uses his acoustic backdrop and electronica-infused experimental pop stylings as a vehicle for his observations on contemporary urban life. His music has been called both Saami Americana and Arctic Art Rock, but he also brings traditional joik to the stage. He has released five albums, won a Norwegian "Spellemann" (Grammy) and two Norwegian Folk Music Awards Norway and Scandinavia has been hos main marked but he has also played shows in Japan, Russia, USA, Canada, Alaska and Brazil.
