Accordion music from the Basque country with moods of Celtic music.
The conjunction of the diatonic accordion -trikitixa- with mandoline and double clarinet -the Basque alboka- supported by bass and percussion, facilitates the elaboration of a dynamic music, lively and harmonious, which, from time to time, draws into the longing for sweet nostalgic melodies.
Korrontzi, is a project that has been growing naturally from the compositions by AgustÃn Barandiarán and Mikel Romero, for accordion with guitar or mandolin, up to the ideal line up, the actual quintet.
After two years of wandering from stage in the Basque country, Korrontzi decided to record their music in order to get to a wider audience. With this first CD Korrontzi pays homage to the old Basque accordionists.
