Beatriz Blanco is being praised by critics and audiences for her passion and musicality, combined with her sensitivity and technique. The quality and depth of her sound, as well as her stage presence, have been evident since her debut with the OSCyL in 2004.

She has recorded for the National Radio of Spain and Catalunya Radio on several occasions. Her concerts have been broadcast on Radio Classic and CatMúsica, some of them have been available to the European Broadcasting Union.

Beatriz Blanco is part of a new generation of Spanish Instrumentalists. Recently, she has been awarded the Würdigungspreis 2013 by the Government of Austria, an Award of Excellence at the highest level after completion of Graduate Studies.
After studying Violoncello and Piano at the Conservatory of Music in her hometown, she graduated as Bachelor of Violoncello at the Music School of the Basque Country "Musikene" as a student of Asier Polo and Maria Casado in 2008. Afterwards she studied with Ivan Monighetti at the Hochschule für Musik in Basel (Switzerland) where she graduated as as a Master of Music ("Konzertdiplom") after doing postgraduate studies at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg (Austria) with Clemens Hagen. Nowadays she continues developing her career working together with cellist Thomas Grossenbacher.
Other important teachers who have had special relevance in her development are Chola Santiago, Viguen Sarkíssov, Maria de Macedo, Aldo Mata, Sergio Azzolini, Anton Kernjak, Rainer Schmidt and Sol Gabetta.

Her solo debut took place in 2004 with the Symphony Orchestra of Castile and León and conductor Alejandro Posada. She has also worked with the Orchestra del Vallés , JONC at Catalunya , RTVE Symphony Orchestra , Symphonieorchester Basel and the Argovia Philharmonic performing in some of the major European concert halls, for instance the “Theatre des Champs Elysees” ( Paris), the “Victoria Hall” (Geneva), the “Stadt Casino” (Basel), “Solitär” (Salzburg), the “Tonhalle” (Zürich), the “Auditorio Nacional” in Madrid, the “Palau de la Música” and “L' Auditori de Barcelona” and the “Palau de las Arts” in Valencia.

She performs as a recitalist all over Spain, a.o. at the Santander Music Festival, the International Festival of Music and Dance of Granada, “Canal de Isabel II", "Youth in Concert JCyL", the "Spanish Music Festival in Cadiz", the "Albéniz Festival", the International Music Festival Segovia, "Clásicos en Ruta" (AIE), at the "Primer Palau“ concert series and "the Rising Generation" at the National Auditorium in Madrid. She also collaborates with the "Jeunesses Musicales" of Spain.

In 2010 she formed with Pablo Barragán (clarinet) and Federico Bosco (piano) the 'Spiral Trio', which is regularly invited to festivals such as "Victoria Arts" in Gozo (Malta), the Adelboden Chamber Music Festival (Switzerland), "Áureo Herrero" in El Barraco, the “Associazione Musicale Lingotto” in Torino or the “Salzburger Kammermusik Festival”. They won the ORPHEUS Chamber Music Competition in Bern, Switzerland. In 2012 they were admitted to the Reina Sofia Music School in Madrid, working with master Ralf Gothóni.

She was invited to join the Academy of Seiji Ozawa in Switzerland, where she performed intense works for String Quartets and Chamber Orchestra under the guidance of Pamela Frank, Nobuko Imai and S. Harada.

Beatriz has been awarded first prizes in competitions such as the "Primer Palau" organized by the Palau de la Musica Catalana in Barcelona, the Jeunesses Musicales in Spain, the Pedro Bote International Competition and the Intercentros Melómano. Furthermore she won the second price of the Rahn Musikpreis Foundation in Switzerland, the third prize at the Liezen International Cello Competition, Austria, and the "Young Artist Award" of the Foundation Bernhard Greenhause California (USA).

At various times in her career, she has received financial support from the Caja Madrid, Caja Spain, Caja Burgos and Castilla y León.
During the 2013/14 season she is collaborating with the Tonhalle Orchester Zürich.

She is playing a cello by C.Pierray (Paris, 1720) on loan thanks to the help of the August Pickhardt Foundation.
