Claudia Moulin is a Portuguese-Italian soprano who was born in Luxembourg.
She completed her studies under Mariette Kemmer at the conservatory of Esch-sur-Alzette where she won the “Prix Supérieur de Chant” and the “Premier Prix d’Art Lyrique” in 2008.
In 2006, she gets her first important engagement with the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra under the conducting of Marek Janowsky as a “Blumen-Mädchen” in Parsifal by R. Wagner.
In 2007, she is the award-winner of a scholarship of the Yamaha Foundation.
Still in 2007 she becomes a membes of the prestigious Paris Opera Studio where she will spend two years.
During that time we can hear her in several roles as “Despina” in Così fan tutte, ”Carolina” in Il Matrimonio Segreto by D. Cimarosa, “Second Woman” in Dido and Aeneas and “La Princesse” in L’Enfant et les Sortilèges by M. Ravel.
She makes her debuts at the Paris National Opera in 2008 where she sings in Frau ohne Schatten (under G. Kuhn), Rigoletto (under D. Oren), Idomeneo (under P. Hui), Suor Angelica (under P. Jordan) and Akhmatova, world première by Bruno Mantovani (Cover of Olga) conducted by P. Rophé
In 2009 she is an award-winner of the « Prix Carpeaux » of the Paris National Opera.
In 2011, she sings “Micaëla” in Carmen at the Metz Opera along with the Lorraine National Opera in Nancy under the conducting of Claude Schnitzler and the staging director Carlos Wagner. She receives a great success all along the eleven performances where the public burst each time into applause after her aria “Je dis que rien ne m’épouvante”
The same year she is part of the “Young Singer Program” of the Salzburg Festival where she sings in “Le Rossignol” by I. Stravinsky conducted by Ivor Bolton and covers the role of “La Contessa” in Le Nozze di Figaro and “Zerlina” in Don Giovanni.
During the 2011-2012 season she is “Sylviane” in Die Lustige Witwe at the Paris National Opera and sings as “Soprano Solo” in the Cantata Der Tag des Gerichts by G.F. Telemann accompanied by the “Ensemble Vocal de Lausanne” conducted by Guillaume Tournière.
In 2012-2013, Claudia goes back to the Paris National Opera where she sings the role of “Clorinda” in La Cenerentola by G. Rossini.
She is also “Fatima” in Abu Hassan by C.M. von Weber at the Roget Barat Theatre in Herblay then “La Princesse” in L’Enfant et les Sortilèges that she tours for 2 month through France and Belgium with the Festival of Aix en Provence.
Her season finishes that year with a concert in company of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Luxembourg (OPL) for an open-air concert of opera-arias.
As a recital and concert performer she had the chance to sing in numerous prestigious venues as the Villa Medici in Rome, the Philharmonie of Luxembourg, the Neumünster Abbey in Luxembourg, the Georges Enesco Athénée in Bucarest, the Auditorium du Louvre and the Athénée Louis Jouvet in Paris and the Arsenal of Metz.
Her next projects include the title role of “Carlotta” in Carlotta ou la Vaticane, world premiere by Dominique Gesseney-Rappo at the Opera of Fribourg, a recital of german Lieder (Richard Strauss: Origins and Legacy) that she will tour through the USA, including a performance at the Carnegie Hall in New York, accompanied by the pianist Grégory Moulin with whom she funded the duet “LuceTerna”.
She will also perform two recitals dedicated to the Luxembourger composer David Ianni accompanied by David Ianni himself, as well as a world première by Camille Kerger and two recitals of opera-aria, one with orchestra and the other one with Grégory Moulin playing the piano.
