Dudu Tassa is one of Israel’s most prominent singers-songwriters and a major figure in the country’s rock scene with 12 album releases up to date.
Dudu Tassa grew up in Tel-Aviv in the 1980s and released his first album at the age of 13. His latest project was born out of his research into the history of his Iraqi-Jewish family and is a tribute to his grandfather and great-uncle. Known as the Al-Kuwaiti brothers, they were highly popular composer/musicians in Baghdad during the first half of the 20th century and are still today acknowledged as important influences on modern Iraqi music. Dudu interprets their songs in Arabic and Hebrew and integrates qanun, violin and cello into his electric rock band line-up to create a unique style, best described in the title of the documentary film about the project: Iraq'n'Roll! The first Al Kuwaiti album sold Gold. Dudu Tassa & the Kuwaitis have toured in USA, Canada , Babelmed 2012 , Sziget festival 2016.

“The album sounds like Rachid Taha plugs in with Chaabi music on Led Zeppelin’s amplifier. “
Francis Dordor Les Inrockuptibles Dec 2011
