Despite limited investment and the absence of wellestablished record labels, music publishers, managers, agents and supporting institutions, the Caribbean music industry has managed to make a significant impact. One of the most striking aspects of this regional industry is the extraordinary range of Indigenous genres and sub-genres (such as reggae, dancehall, calypso, soca, merengue, reggaeton, zouk, salsa, and more) that have achieved global recognition and success.
