Discover the Singeli Sound – a frenetic sometimes 300 bpm strain of dance music echoing throughout Dar es Salaam. Coinciding with the Sounds of Pamoja compilation out on Nyege Nyege Tapes, NTS explores the burgeoning Tanzanian scene of high energy dance music with a new mini documentary, featuring interviews with the founders of Pamoja Records and Sisso Records, alongside artists and managers from the scene.
Chantal Adams, filmmaker and radio host of Perm Politics on NTS.live, has a deep desire to fuse music with Black storytelling. Originally studying fashion, a chance encounter with guest lecturer Margarita Louca led Chantal into the world of music videos. Since then, she has become head of video at NTS.live and, most importantly, continues with her independent films.
