"Dia Santo" is the debut album from one of Brazil's most innovative young artists, Jam de Silva.

"Delicious dream, floating cut by Jam Da Silva: Dia Santo sounds like Tribalistas on a particularly blissful and effective holiday, very special, cool and roots" - Gilles Peterson .

To categorize "Dia Santo" within the commercial genres is a futile task. On my shelf it is labelled "Excellent Music" - DJ Dolores.

The title track of his recent album "Dia Santo" caught the attention of BBC Radio 1 DJ Gilles Peterson and was included on "Browswood Bubblers Four" and was part of Gilles' "All Winner Show 2009" showcasing the best new tunes of the year.

"Dia Santo" is the coming of age of an artist capable of crossing cultural, aesthetic, and geographical boundaries, and nonetheless excelling with his project: the acoustic elements predominate, but it's also a dish made for remixes." DJ Dolores

This is the first solo release from Jam da Silva who recently supported Erykah Badu in Rio de Janeiro. This follows a previous tour the UK with renown Brazilian DJ and producer DJ Dolores (winner of a BBC 3 World Music award) on the project DJ Dolores e Orquestra Santa Massa. His collaborations in Brazil and Europe include: Toumani Diabate, Roberta Sa and Marisa Monte plus French artists Moussu T and Les Jovents, Troublemakers, Massilia Sound System and Camille.
