The musical idea of MyStory is born a few years ago as a combination of acoustic and electronic sound that combines them into a single harmony, including gradual and organic human voice. The project starts in 2016 and collects Maria Alexandrova ( vocals ), Peter Iordanov - Bunny ( percussions ), Christina Beleva ( gadulka ), Angel Dimitrov ( tanpura ) and DJ Nevahrest ( Martin Donovski ). In 2018 the band was joined by singer Julia Gatderova.
The project is an unexpected concept of recreating modernized ethno sound and traditional folk music in a more impressive innovative way, including jazz, electronic music. The live performances rely on photography and cinematography backdrops with set design, lighting and more. With each of the participants involved, the band gradually built its longtime experience of the music scene in general efforts to create product, deprived of ego and beyond pure personal expression, inspired by the sound and ancient traditions. The musicians perform Bulgarian folk songs, each with its own personal story that tells about the emotions of the Bulgarians in the past with their thoughts, feelings and worldview. The debut album was released in 2018. In the meantime the band launched their first virtual miniconcert, that went beyond the club stage to the vast online audience in order to show that the native folklore is just their first step in the interpretation of the Global ethnotraditions and jazz sound.
