These are just a few of the raving accolades that the last album ’Dime Nagüe’ (2004) by Soneros All Stars garnered worldwide. The fortuitous international encounter between Janne “Yanesito” Bodgan of Stockholm, the producer, guitarist and tres player of the band, and some of the most talented and famous Cuban musicians is proving fruitful again. The band is ready to release the new album ’La Timba Soy Yo’ in October 2007. Bearing the signature of Cesar “Pupy” Pedroso’s unmistakable sound on piano (from Pupy y los que Son Son) peppered with Janne’s tres-cubano, the new album will feature a mix of son cubano, changüí and songo with a modern twist delivered via modern instruments and sound. Still keeping a foot in old sound traditions, the new album has a rougher, street harsh timba rhythm featuring all new song releases. The album was recorded in the Egrem Studio 101 (Central Havana) in March 2007.
