Täpp are a dynamic and experimental loop pedal music collective, lead and managed by violinist Rebekah Reid. They craft unique sounds through live looping and improvisation, creating original music without end - No limits, no boundaries.
Originally founded as a violin and cello loop pedal duo, Täpp has evolved over the past 2 years into a collective of artists from across the UK, keen to push the boundaries of music. Täpp combine traditional and contemporary string instruments and techniques with electronics and modern instruments to create unique music that captures your imagination. Their music covers an eclectic range of genres and styles, whilst exploring the interplay between jazz harmony/improvisation and classical composition.
Collectively the ensemble draws inspiration from a range of different artists including; Bach, Paganini, Steve Reich, Max Richter, Eddie South, Miles Davis, Pharoah Sanders, Alice Coltrane, Erykah Badu, Fela Kuti, and Fourtet. Featuring collaborations with musicians from London and Manchester, Täpp released their debut album 'I like what I do // I do what I like' in June 2021, and performed their debut as a collective at the Royal Albert Hall - Elgar Room in November 2021. Täpp has featured in Jazzwise Magazine and Decoded Magazine, appeared on Worldwide FM and had radio plays on BBC 1Xtra, BBC Radio 3 and BBC 6 Music. Täpp aim to stimulate your curiosity, breakthrough stereotypes, and awaken a new music movement.
“Täpp are breaking down classical music and restructuring it into a sound that celebrates both old and new, chipping away at the notions of stereotypes and shattering expectations in the process.” Bestnewbands.com
