Combo Cordeiro is the instrumental project of Felipe Cordeiro and Manoel Cordeiro, two artist from Pará, one of the biggest and influente northern Brazilian state. With electronic beats and guitars riffs on the front plan, the father/son pair explores with versatility, at the same time, root and universal rhythms of Tecnobrega, Boi Bumbá, Carimbó, Cumbia and Guitarrada. From the desire to experiment their Amazon references with electronic sonority was born an unique language that mixes melodious themes, original timbres, tropical beats and a visual conception with live projections.
Felipe Cordeiro is one of the main names on the Brazilian contemporary scene, known for its Tropical Pop, which brings references of rock, Guitarrada, Carimbó, Cumbia and digital music. Manoel Cordeiro is a guitarist and producer of hundreds of Amazon artist of the 70s and 80s, in genres such as Lambada, Brega, Electric Carimbó, Boi Bumbá and Guitarrada such as Beto Barbosa, Carrapicho, among others.
The Combo Cordeiro album celebrates the musical meeting of Felipe Cordeiro and Manoel Cordeiro, in 10 tracks produced by the artists themselves, among them "Tirando Barato” (Getting Cheap), “Mãe do Rio” (Mother of the River) and “Palácio dos Bares” (Bars’ Palace). Recorded at YB studios Music, in São Paulo, the album was released in May 2017 on digital platforms and brings participations of the guitarists Fernando Catatau and Kiko Dinucci, the saxophonist Thiago França and the percussionists Thomas Harres and Márcio Teixeira.
