Known as the first practising Muslim female band, The Ulfah Collective is a group of women from different backgrounds brought together by Ulfah Arts. Their songs are universal and include traditional Islamic songs as well as songs of other faith traditions such as gospel and even rap.
The Ulfah collective perform mainly to mainly women only audiences and to date have used the hand drum so everything is contained within their belief system. Some members have varying beliefs so it is possible on occasions to perform to a mixed male and female audience depending on the opportunity.
