The Madagascan garage-rock band was founded by the brothers Andrianarisoa – charismatic frontman Eddy on vocals and Mahefa on bass - who were brought up on 60s-70s rock by their father, becoming fans of bands like The Sonics, the Stooges and MC5, whose punk energy provided the natural vehicle to express their own anger against the corruption, self-serving politicians, exploitation and censorship they see rampant in their homeland. With powerful drummer and the inventive dexterity of guitarist Poun, The Dizzy Brains have consolidated into a powerful force, making their European breakthrough at Trans Musicales de Rennes in 2015 and internationally in Quebec, Morocco, South Korea and Germany. With their third album and a series of videos offering illuminating insights into life on the Madagascan edge, The Dizzy Brains carry their message forward with captivating attitude.
