Montreal-based Slavic dub-punk folk band Dumai Dunai formed in 2021. The seven-piece band is comprised of a diverse group of musicians originating from Ukraine, Bulgaria, Canada (British Colombia, Quebec, and Nova Scotia) and the USA. Bandleader Eli Camilo writes music heavily inspired by his travels in eastern Europe, and he and co-lead singer, Natalia Telentso sing and write lyrics in several languages including English, Ukrainian, Serbian and French.
In the mere 7 months since the band’s first performance, they have shared the stage with notable acts such as the Barr Brothers and Socalled, and played Canadian festivals in Quebec and Ontario including Pop Montreal, Ashkenaz Festival (Toronto), and Mondo Karnaval (Quebec City). The band released their first single in June 2022, with a second scheduled for release on October 27th (2022). They are currently working on their first full-length album which is set to be released in the summer of 2023.
