Gangar

Gangar combines Norwegian folk music with Rock, Metal and Jazz, creating a new and exciting sound in in the process. Inspired by bands like AC/DC, Hoven Droven and Meshuggah, Gangar make old traditional Norwegian melodies available to a wider audience, without compromising the original material. Frontman and fiddler Mattias Thedens finds the melodies in old archive recordings, and then the band members arrange them together. The band members' different musical backgrounds add the extra spice that takes the party to a new level - the result is a cannonball of young and wild energy you won't forget anytime soon!

Gangar is known as a formidable live band that always delivers a show filled with energy, audience interaction, dancing, and high musical quality. This combination makes it hard for any audience to keep their feet off of the dance floor. In 2022, Gangar was one of four Norwegian artists invited to showcase at Nordic Folk Alliance in Gothenburg, and played at Viljandi Folk Music Festival in Estonia, Noorderzon Performing Arts Festival in Groningen, Netherlands, and at Delsbostämman in Sweden, in addition to several concerts in Norway. In 2023, Gangar played an official showcase at Folk Alliance International in Kansas City, USA and played several concerts in Germany, Sweden, Denmark, and Norway. Gangar have performances coming up in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Germany, Italy, Hungary, and Australia.
