Massilia Sound System is celebrating three decades marked by the desire to confront different points of view, bring people together and mix various styles. Massilia Sound System sings of Marseilles, partying and love but also of anger and fighting for social rights.
With vocals in both French and Occitan, the band uses these two assets as the basis for many different possibilities. Langue d’oc, which is almost a thousand years old, is used not to erect regional barriers, but to create an arena in which they can work freely, a creative tool with infinite possibilities, just like reggae music does, thus bringing things full circle.
