Films on demand in March

Spring is at our doorstep, and the long Easter weekend is right around the corner, to keep you entertained, we have added two Films from our WOMEX 23 selection that you can stream online on virtualWOMEX.

So, sit back, grab a cup of tea and a bag of popcorn, and enjoy these cinematic gems from the cosy comfort of your own home.

Starting today, Friday, 22 March, until Sunday, 31 March, all virtualWOMEX members will be able to stream the selected films.

Feneen directed by Giulia Rosco
Feneen depicts the current urban and music subcultures of the Senegalese capital Dakar's outskirts. By portraying the various facets of the fledgling music industry of the city, it emphasizes the fundamental role of urban subcultures for the many up-and-coming musicians and artists.

Terruá Pará directed by Jorane Castro
Set in the heart of the Amazon Rainforest, Terruá Pará is a musical, audiovisual tribute to the lush environs of the landscape, presenting its diverse musical scenes set across the state of Pará. Directed by screenwriter and director Jorane Castro, who herself was born in the region, the film recreates this spirit of the mighty Amazon, with each part unveiling the universe where the music of Pará originated.

Lucia Udvardyova from our Films team gets behind the scenes with the filmmakers Giulia Rosco and Jorane Castro; read their and other filmmaker interviews available on the WOMEX Blog. And, yes, you can also connect with the filmmakers through your account!
