John Allen, producer/director/graphic designer, and Bella LeNestour, writer/producer/painter, founded Possible Pictures in 1994, bringing together their creative abilities to express the Power of Music and serve a global audience searching for the threads that connect us.
Their most recent release, the documentary WIJDAN, THE MYSTERY OF GNAWA TRANCE MUSIC was filmed during the musical encounter of gnawa musician Brahim El Belkani from Morocco and bambara shaman/musician Sibiri Samaké, from Mali.
Stroking an intimate portrait of those two musicians, WIJDAN is a testament to a fast changing Africa. Breaking away from the anthropological genre, the film conveys the modernity of these masters of the supernatural as they transmit secret knowledge to their children.
The film is available for TV broadcasting. Released in dvd through Harmonia Mundi, it;s a co-edition of Possible Pictures and Mondomix.
