Small World Music

Since 1997, Small World Music has been celebrating cultural diversity and showcasing a range of local, domestic, and international talent to audiences across the Greater Toronto Area. In addition to presenting culturally-diverse artists, SWM seeks ways of working with and for, showcasing, and supporting equity-deserving artists and professionals onstage and behind the scenes to encourage sustainable careers. Small World Music runs the Emergence Music Incubator, an artist development program for newcomer and emerging musicians; presents music of all kinds in our own venue, the Small World Music Centre, and in venues of all shapes and sizes with a wide range of partners; and produces the Small World Music Festival (to be held July 14-16, 2023).

Small World Music also produces the Global Toronto (GT) showcase and conference.

GT is rooted in building a sustainable, equitable, and accessible future for the music sector. It is a platform to discover great music and create and strengthen connections and relationships, while building community, and creating a space to discuss and make change. More than just a marketplace, Global Toronto is also a meeting place, a global gathering in the tradition of our home, which has been a site of coming-together for millennia. Global Toronto 2023 (GT23) will take place Sept 18-22.
