The heritage of Arabic song and Egyptian cinema reviewed and transfigured by the sounds of today. Love & Revenge launches its second season, with new music and videos.

Seizing the success of the Middle Eastern variety and Egyptian cinema
from the 1950s to the 1980s, the musician Rayess Bek and the videographer La Mirza created a fertile hybridization between past and modern aesthetics. While Mirza mixes live Arab films extracts, old melodies are electrified by Rayess Bek and reinforced with break-beats and electro sounds thanks to Mehdi Haddab and Julien Perraudeau.

Glory and Tears, second part of Love & Revenge project released in 2020, is a fascinating maelstrom that overturns the clichés of identities and the hierarchy of cultures.

After the glamor of Egyptian musicals, tribute to music from across the Arab world (Kuwait, Morocco, Yemen, Sudan, Algeria, Lebanon …), and to film genre and cult B series, like this Arab Star Wars (A trip to the moon, 1959) or an Egyptian Dracula… A fascinating musical and temporal maelstrom that overturns the clichés of identities and the hierarchy of cultures.
