Initially the Paris Texas songs were mainly reflections on the road trips Gerrit made to the U.S.A. but more recently they widened their repertoire introducing more universal themes such as broken love, lost love, unwanted love and the joy of spitting cherry stones on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
Springtime 2019 Paris Texas spent three days in the studio with producer Pascal Deweze (Sukilove/ Broken Glass Heroes) canning 13 songs in a live setting (no overdubs please) for their debut album entitled When You’re Gone.
Through the rest of 2019 Paris Texas played a series of live club gigs and festivals of which the absolute highlight was the renowned Omagh Bluegrass Festival in Northern Ireland where they managed to steal the show with their energetic live set.
