Baluji Music Foundation

The Baluji Music Foundation was established in 2008 by Baluji Shrivastav OBE, Indian multi-instrumentalist and composer featured by ARC/Naxos Music and artist/producer Linda Shanson. The foundation oversees workshops and performances by Baluji Shrivastav OBE, Inner Vision Orchestra and Jazz Orient.

Baluji Shrivastav OBE 'virtuoso multi-instrumentalist' (The Times) is one of the world’s leading composers and sitar players. Described as ‘sitarist to the stars’ (Evening Standard), he has performed and recorded with artists such as Stevie Wonder, Coldplay, Massive Attack, Madness, Shakira, Malu, Boy George & Doves. He works with many other artists/ensembles through 'Baluji Interactions'.

Inner Vision Orchestra is the UK’s only professional ensemble of blind musicians and they recently performed at the opening ceremony of the IBSA World Blind Games.

Jazz Orient, an ensemble exploring Jazz, Eastern European, Latin, Middle Eastern and Indian music. The group has released six albums, amassed over 500k streams on Spotify and their most recent performance was a headline show at the EFG London Jazz Festival.

The founding principles of the Baluji Music Foundation:
- To advance access to artistic experiences for disabled people
- To advance experience and appreciation of the arts through cross-cultural artistic activities for people of all backgrounds
- To advance the public’s education in traditional, classical, and contemporary Indian music
- To advance racial harmony, community development, and the promotion of diversity for people of all backgrounds and abilities through involvement in artistic activities.
