DAGADANA is a Polish-Ukrainian band. Wishing songs and woman folk stories make reference to ancient songs and boldly blend with other genres. Folk melodies, trance vibes and polyphony correspond with jazz groove, improvisations and dance-like electronics. Sensitive, intelligent, curious about the world and its people.
For 13 years they’ve Been attempting to blur the boundaries and build bridges that will connect both nations. Toured in 26 countries
The band has performed at such prominent festivals as Glastonbury (UK), Virada Cultural (Brazil), Shanghai World Music (China), Desert People Festival (Morocco), Open’er or Woodstock (Poland).
.DAGADANA won the Fryderyk 2011 Award in the World Music Album of the Year category and was nominated for the Phonographic Debut of the Year. Their second album “Dlaczego nie” was nominated for the Fryderyk 2012 Award in the World Music category. The “Meridian 68” (2016) album has been nominated for polish Grammy Award “Fryderyk 2016″ in “Roots Album of the Year” category.
In 2021 They Have released „Tobie” album full of Wishing songs (based on the oldest traditions from Poland an Ukraine).
