The Akamu company based in Bologna carries out the organization and promotion of cultural and artistic events in favor of associations, organizations, companies located both in Italy and abroad and mainly consists of concert activities by artists in the music sector.
— As a “Music Promotion Agency” it performed the following services, among others:
1) co-organized 3 editions from 2009 to 2011 of the Crosscurrent Festival in Botticino and in New York at Le Poisson Rouge thanks to the support of the RAI Radio 3; of the ethnographic museum Musée du Quai Branly in Paris and the TriCentric Foundation in New York.
2) organized in 2015 the event “50 Years Anniversary of AACM” at the prestigious Théâtre Châtelet in Paris for the Festival d'Automne with the presence of Mayor of the City of Paris Anne Hidalgo;
3) organized in 2015 at the Egyptian Museum of Turin the performance by Anthony Braxton “The Sonic Genome” with over 60 musicians involved for 8 hours; the same performance in 2019 was also presented in Berlin at the Gropius Bau Museum of Contemporary Art;
4) made radio broadcasts on the “Vanguardia Paulista” on RAI Radio 1, Radio Popolare Network (12 episodes) and Radio Svizzera Italiana (4 episodes). See www.akamu.net/brasil.htm
5) organized in 2018-2019 three European and one World Tours of the Art Ensemble of Chicago – a band that has marked the history of jazz and in 2017 celebrated its 50 years of career – with prestigious concerts including those in Arts Center in Melbourne (Australia), Barbican Center in London (UK), Big Ears Festival in Knoxville (USA), Kennedy Center in Washington DC (USA), Von Freeman Pavilion in Chicago (USA), SESC Pompéia in São Paulo and SESC Santos (Brazil). For all of these tours, Akamu followed production, organization and logistics.
6) creating special projects as "Comicoperando" and the recent "Wyattando" both devoted to the great music of Robert Wyatt

Organized hundreds of concerts in the most prestigious Concert Halls in Europe and several dozen prestigious extra-European locations including Bang On A Can Festival at Word Trade Center (New York), Espacio El Dorrego (Buenos Aires), Teatro de la Ciudad (Mexico DF), Carnegie Hall (New York), House of the Scientist (Novosibirsk), Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (Washington DC), SESC Pompéia (São Paulo), Simon Bolivar Amphitheater (Mexico DF), Von Freeman Pavillon (Chicago), Lenfest Center for the Arts (New York), Thalia Hall (Chicago), Thomson Arts Center (New York), Big Ears Festival (Knoxville), Arts Center Melbourne.
