The keywords as regards the activities of Music Information Centre Lithuania (MICL) and its music export project Music Lithuania are information, publication, promotion and collaboration. For almost two decades now MICL has consistently held to its most important goals – to publicize, disseminate and share information on Lithuanian musical culture in its many diverse forms, to promote the musical culture of Lithuania at home and abroad, to introduce it into the cultural consciousness of a local and international audience. In carrying out its activities both within and outside Lithuania’s borders, the organization covers the whole range of musical genres: (post)modern forms of folk music, jazz, experimental electronic music, pop, rock and urban, placing its main focus on Lithuanian contemporary art music and 20th century classical music. MICL / Music Lithuania develops an extensive online database on Lithuanian musical culture at www.mic.lt (with more than 400 profiles with catalogues of compositions and / or a discography).
